Customer Review Of the Long Bow Titanium Barrel Kit

Posted by Administrator

Here is a customer review of a Long Bow Titanium Paintball Barrel Kit.

“The barrel comes in a simple case that holds the three backs and the front. The kit comes with .684, .687, and .690. I put .688 balls thru the .684 and had no breaks. With the right size balls, the barrel shoots very accurate. The asthetics are simple but the barrel is built with high quality. In comparing the smoothness of the internal boring to other barrels, the TI is mirror smooth.
Pricey, but you get what you pay for.”

Invert Mini Upgrade bolt!

Posted by Administrator

Check out the New Designz Mini Upgrade bolt. Its like night and day how much lighter it is over the stock Mini bolt. The Delrin bolt is almost weightless. I installed the delrin bolt in my gun, off the bat there is no kick tot he gun at all. The bolt is the only thing that really moves inside the Mini, so when you install a bolt that weighs almost nothing, you don’t feel it move back and forth. I installed the bolt dry (no lube on the bolt). We’ll see how it goes. So far its way worth the $19

WarPar.com Reviewed the Tribal Stix Barrel

Posted by Administrator

www.warpig.com reviewed the Tribal Stix barrels.  Their conclusion was “Operationally the Tribal Stix barrel performed as one would expect a well honed, ported barrel to perform. It’s light weight conveniently was not a burden when carried on the test marker (Matrix LCD.)”  We think its an incredible value at the $39.99 price range.  You can read the whole WARPIG Tribal Stix review here.

Mini Part 2

Posted by Administrator

So after a good 4 weeks of breaking in the Invert Mini and at least 5 cases of paint, it purrs like a kitten.  It first it was a bit of a struggle with chopping balls during the break in, but as I went threw case by case I noticed a considerable difference in the way the gun sounded and handled the paintballs.  During break in, I also stuffed a possum tailed squeegee into the barrel and dry fired (to save paint).  I’m not sure if that was factory approved, but I figured it couldn’t hurt.  Most paintball guns do not need to be broken in, however the Mini is one of the rare exceptions, and its because of the revolutionary design of the valve.

Over all, the gun shoots fast, is quiet and pretty air efficient. I have been shooting a 14″ Tribal Stix paintball barrel with it and the gun has a nice flat trajectory and even has a decent long ball to it.  Once you get the gun broken in for the ease of use and performance the $398 price tag I think is worth it.  Not to mention the gun itself fits in the palm of your hand.

That’s basically what your paying for, that and size of the over all marker. Check out more pictures of the EGO 07 and other Planet Eclipse guns.

Upfront Speed Feed Halo and VLocity Lids

Posted by Administrator

speedfeed
The Speed Feed Halo and Vlocity Hoppers lids really helps you load faster without looking and they actually keep the paintballs secure in your hopper.  The Speed Feed is a one way feed gate, that allows paintballs to fall into the hopper and not bounce out.  It installs like any replacement lid, and snaps securely in place.  This is great for any tournament player.  The down site is, it does not keep the weather out.  So if its raining, or sprinkling, you might want to put your stock lid on, unless you are really blowing through paint.

Tech T’s New Gun Sav Lube

Posted by Tony

Tech T just came out with their Gun Sav synthetic lubricant. Its so pose to be a super slick direct replacement to Dow 33, which means you can use it in any gun where Dow 33 is required.

Initially, with the way Tech T was pushing the super slick properties of the Gun Sav, we were concerned that the lube would burn off as quickly as gun oil, and not have the viscosity to continue lubricating a high end paintball gun for the duration of a tournament. To test the new Gun Sav paintball gun lube, and compare it to Dow 33, we developed a very advanced set of procedures. On one pointer I put some Gun Sav on it, on the other hand’s pointer finger i put about the same amount of Dow 33. I then used each thumb respectively and began rubbing the lubes in between my thumb and fingers.

Initially the Sav Lube was much slicker and thinner than the Dow 33. After about 5 min of vigorous rubbing the Gun Sav exhibited the same slickness and consistency as the Dow 33, and held it until the end of the 10 min test. So it is some pretty slick stuff at first and will definitely lube your gun. Although further testing is needed to discover the long term endurance of the Gun Sav however, our results look promising.

Invert Mini Review

Posted by Administrator

The Invert Mini paintball gun, is a very small gun. When I opened the case for the first time I couldn’t believe how small and light it was. It feels around 1 pound. The Mini has a ton of innovative design features which I won’t get into. I’m just going to talk about the initial trial of the gun. I took the mini out of the box on Friday to mess around with it and read the instructions for play on Saturday.

The Mini has a pretty simple, electronic board with is pretty easy to navigate though with the multi colored LED. After taking about 20 min to read the short instructions and learn how to adjust the settings and firing modes I aired up the Mini and tried it out (with the stock board settings, in SEMI Auto Mode). I found the Mini easy to hold and fire with, it was actually a pleasure. The gun was well balanced, and the 45 grip was easy on the wrist. I had the gun set up with Crossfire LP tank, a Halo B w/Rip drive and a 12″ Tribal Stix Barrel. I went threw about a hopper of paint and noticed I was chopping the PMI Premium paintballs I was shooting. I checked the bolt and sure enough I was chopping. I lowered the dwell down to 15 and upped the BIP to 4 and it purred like a kitten.

That Saturday I enjoyed playing with the Mini. It was again a pleasure to hold, shoot and carry. I was surprised how responsive it felt when i pulled the trigger. Usually fast smaller guns like the Mini do not have much of a long ball, however the mini did pretty well for across the field “rain” shooting. The field couldn’t give more than 2500PSI per fill so I couldn’t do a shot count per tank, but I’ll be playing again with it this Saturday. For right now, for $399 the Mini, I think is a great deal.

Eclipse Cerberus Kit Paintball Bag - Review

Posted by Jeff

The first batch of Eclipse Cerberus Kit Bag (don’t worry no one knows how to pronounce it) has come and gone.  We still have a couple of black/white bags left which I think are the coolest looking.  They have the mo9st contrast to them.

I just walked out to the warehouse and unboxed one. Eclipse did do a much better job at making the Cerberus Kit Bag lighter than previous versions. The bag feels more sturdy too.  The shape and interior didn’t really change much.  On the inside you have 1 long inside pocket on one side, and 2 same type of pockets on the other side (All zippered).  New for this year Eclipse has a pre manufacturer white foam insert perfect for slipping 2 guns into.  Once this insert is inserted you have to larger sections of the gear bag on either side in a typical Redz or Eclipse configuration.  See chart.

Gun

Gun

There is a spot for goggles, and a few pockets here and there for for spares and batteries.  The wheels when hand spun have the smoothest motion I have ever felt for a gear bag, super smooth.  Eclipse has also done a very nice job with the style of the bag and quality of components.  Its cool looking and the new Eclipse Logos are tastefully made and add to the over look and feel to the bag.  All of the zippers, handles,  and other high stress parts of the bag feel very durable, and say nothing but quality construction.  Its no wonder why this bag has always been a big seller.

ANS 68/4500 Paintball Tanks

Posted by Administrator

So if you haven’t already checked them out take a peak at the ANS xtreme 68/4500 HPA Tanks. These are some nice HPA tanks.  The tank itself is a new 5 year tank made in Korea and DOT certified. For those of you who don’t know ANS, they made their name making Super High performance Custom Autocockers in the 1990’s (before ‘cockers became obsolete).

The regulators on these tanks are pretty short, which is good becuase it helps to make the orver all length of the tank smaller than usuall.  The overall tank setup weights about 2.6lbs which is super light compaired to what else is out there for paintball air tank. The only other tank thats lighter is the Macdev 68/4500 legion air, which comes in at 2.5lbs.

The ANS tanks have been out for a few years now. We have had the pleasure of using them actively on Egos, Angels, Bob Long guns.  They have given us no problems what so ever.  Their MSRP is $219 we have them on sale for under $200, they are a excellent, light weight tank.

Nitro Duck iReg. paintball tank regulator

Posted by Administrator

Nitro Duck was the first company in paintball to think of making a HPA tank with Co2 tank treads on it so you can screw it into your gun like a Co2 tank.  Prior to this brilliant idea, the only way to get a HPA tank attached to your paintball gun was to by using a dove tail rail system (Smart Parts, Empire (adjustable), Evil *adjustable) and the Macdev push button tank still use this system).

Nitro Duck’s Newest creation the iReg paintball tank regulator is built of there almost 20+ years of developing paintball air equipment.  The iReg itself measures 2” (not including the steam) and weights 5.1oz.  It offers a sleek low profile milling.

The iReg comes stock with a 800 PSI internal piston.  We tested 8 regulators and all of them were at 800PSI exactly.  We hooked up a 47/3000 iReg tank to an Angel one and a 07 Ego and let them rip.  We experienced zero shoot downs and the guns felt like nothing was stopping them.  We shot about 4,000 rounds.

The nice thing about the Nitro Duck iReg is you can easily swap out the internal piston for your specific application.  They offer a 400, 600, 800 (stock) and 1000PSI piston so you can feed your gun exactly what it needs to play.  The 1000PSI piston is great for Tippmann Custom 98 and A5.  The more pressure you can feed those guns the better they will perform.

Nitro Duck also took into consideration the look of the iReg.  The iReg paintball tank regulator is the first regulator which has cosmetic color kits available for it.  If you spend a lot of time customizing the looks of your gun now you don’t have to be stuck with a plain old black regulator.  The color kit will add a splash of color to your regulator just enough to make it “pop”.

Nitro Duck now offers this Regulator with all of their paintball tanks (45ci, 68ci, 70ci, and 90ci) and you can purchase the regulator separately if your already own a tank.  Currently they are only available with the stock 800PSI piston included, but I highly recommend getting the piston kit set which includes the other 3 pressure pistons.   The iReg also does not need to be installed with loctite, so it will remove easily for air plane travel.

Overall it’s a great little tank regulator.  If you take care of it and get the piston kit it will be the last paintball tank regulator you will ever have to buy.  You can check it out by clicking here http://www.sakworldpaintball.com/niduirpaairt.html

Draxxus Pulse Paintball Hopper

Posted by Administrator

Regardless of the pending “patent infringements” the Draxxus Pulse paintball hopper faces, its a pretty cool hopper.  The way the motor slides out of the body to make for easy body cleaning is a great idea.  Instead of taking 15 min to unscrew all the screws on a halo, pull the shells apart, wipe everything then then re assemble the halo, the Pulse hopper can do it in about 1 min total including cleaning.  It saves time and frustration so you can go back to filling your pods.

The RF chip (optional) for the Draxxus Pulse is also pretty cool.  Its a kick back to the old Angel Intellifeed system to where the the hoper would sense when the gun shot and would feed at the same time.  The Pulse took this concept a little further but getting rid of the wire that connected the Angel and the Hopper and replacing it with RF (Radio Frequency aka Blue Tooth Technology).  The RF chip is a universal transmitter which taps into your solenoid’s power leads.  When you shoot power is sent to your solenoid the RF chip will sense the gun being fired and send a wireless signal to the hopper to feed.

The Draxxus Pulse also claims to have shatter proof shells, we didn’t test that, nor do we put much faith in that but they offer a warranty to back the shells up.  Shells aside, the Draxxus Pulse is a pretty cool paintball hopper.

Please note: The RF chip currently does not work with the WDP ANGEL 1 Paintball Marker.  Its solenoid is so efficient the voltage needed to activate the solenoid is too low for the Draxxus RF chip to sense.
