We just got a fresh batch of ETEK2 colors in. The new colors (in addition to Black, and Brown/Gold) are RED/White, and Green/White. The Etek2 looks light a well designed “black tie” paintball gun. It has a refined look and feel too it, while at the same time it flexes a little muscle. The guns are sharp if you haven’t checked them out yet. although they came out with 2 new cool looking colors, they stopped making the Blue/White (ICE) color, which was also a pretty cool looking color.

“Due to increased costs, the US RETAIL price of the U.S. Army Alpha Black with e-Grip and Tactical with e-Grip markers will be increasing by $20.00. The US Army Alpha Black Marker with E-Grip price will be $139.00. The US Army Alpha Black Tactical Marker with E-Grip price will be $169.00.
This price will affect all current orders in our system and will be in affect for any new orders received. We regret this price increase on the e-Grip; however we are pleased to advise the price of the current Alpha Black Basic Marker and Tactical Marker will remain unchanged.”
Due to this unexpected Price Increase we have to cancel all existing Pre-Orders for the markers.

So we’re not sure what the deal is with the release of the JRNY Paintball Hopper from NXE. Frankly we keep getting “jerked” around. We feel we have been strung along since Dec. 07 waiting for the release of these hoppers. We were provided with information saying first the end of Dec. Then the end of Feb, and then finally after San Diego’s NPPL event. The San Diego NPPL event has come and gone and yet now we heard a rumor of JULY! In an effort not to string our customers along as we have been, SAKworldpaintball.com took the initiative to cancel all Pre-Orders we had for the Hopper. The last thing we wanted to do was feed customers more bad information. People need hoppers to play with this summer. No one wants to wait till the end of summer for a new hopper.

Does anyone else hope this is fake? I found it out on the Planet Eclipse web site. Don’t get me wrong, I love Planet Eclipse Ego paintball guns, however not enough to tattoo their logo to my back (given it did come out nice). if memory serves I think some WDP fan tattooed the Angel logo somewhere on himself.

Did you guys check out the new Eclipse SL8R? Its pretty cool and $200 cheaper than previous years SL (SL66 and SL74) models, which will indefinably put it a little more in reach for more paintballers.
While I brought up Angel, Angel Sports (WDP renamed themselves Angel Sports) will be releasing the A1 Fly any day now. Look for lighten weight, probably new software, and meaner looking milling. I hope they don’t change the barrel thread yet again. They have changed their thread so many times now, its hard to remember what thread is for what Angel.

So i just read another paintball blog saying its fun to play in the winter time. My response to that is, that guy doesn’t play paintball. He’s why paintball sucks in the winter time.
1) If there is snow on the ground (we’re in New England so there is always snow) its a workout to get from point A to point B because you sink in the snow. You have to “high knee it” to move around and thats not easy with an extra 20 lbs worth of paintball gear and paintballs on you.
2) its cold
3) Paintballs become very brittle when they are exposed to cold. This means even on the truck on the way to your local paintball field, if the shipment is exposed to cold the whole batch is almost useless. If paintballs are stored in a unheated location, they will also become brittle. The paintballs will break in your gun more often which sucks. Make sure you use a winter paintball or a cheaper 1st run paintball. The shells will be thicker when these types of paintballs.
4) You can’t use CO2 in the wintertime. Co2 will loose its pressure and cause freeze up in your gun, if its cold out. If its real bad your paintball gun won’t even shoot at all. There are tricks (more like band aids) around this like using an expansion chamber and a heated hunting sock to keep your tank warm but these are not fool proof methods. You would be better off getting a cheap 47/3000 paintball air tank instead of investing in a expansion chamber set up. Compressed air AKA n2 doesn’t have the same cold weather CO2 has, so if your dead set on playing in the winter time, and you have CO2 you need to update your tank.
5) Your stuck in the “woods”. Air fields can’t hold air during the winter months becuase its so cold. So your stuck in the “woods” i put woods in quotes becuase there is no brush or leaves around. Your basically stuck, running around through vertical sticks in the ground, knee deep in snow. You don’t want to sit, becuase the snow will melt then you will be wet and cold.

The release of the NXE Jrny Paintball hopper has been delayed about 3 weeks. During some QA testing NXE found a few software glitches. NXE is currently in the process of correcting the Hopper’s software bug and preparation of releasing the hopper. If you don’t have time to sit around waiting for a JRNY to come out check out our other paintball hoppers.

I really don’t understand how shocktech is still in business. They just refuse to die. The Funnier part is KEE action sports keeps buying product from them, thus not realizing they are they only reason shcoktech is still selling paintball supplies. No one buys shocktech products anymore because their products haven’t changed since since they opened their doors making Autococker parts. SHocktech should take a cue from KAPP (Kick Ass Paintball Products) once they Autococker died, they did too. ANS is another old company that keeps hanging on, they changed their name to Warrior Paintball products now to try to mix things up.

Due to some manufacturing (anodizing) issues Planet Eclipse has had to change around some colors on their 2008 EGO Paintball guns. They have stop (for the time being) making “light” colored bodies because they were too hard to color and have a good finished product. The white and Olive 08 Egos are no longer made for this reason. “The light colored body’s were taking too long to make and they weren’t coming out good” says Marc Lancia of Planet Eclipse. They replaced brown w/olive and black w/white for the Solid White and Olive w/Brown.
Once more demand is met for the 08 EGO they will consider making lighter colored bodies again. Until then you have the 08 CCU kits coming out soon, the 2007 CCU kits will also work on the 2008 EGO.

There is a new Paintball Restriction bill to be voted on in MA. With a already struggling state funding issue to me this just means more people work and wasted tax payers dollars.

You know its funny. When paintball was in its very beginnings everyone wore camouflage. The big thing was a tiger stripe pattern. When paintball was first on ESPN, everyone had an Automag and slowly “slithered” toward their opponent while shooting. Then there was a big push to get out of the woods to make paintball more main stream. Thats when all the colorful jerseys and pants started to hit the market. Now we seem to be doing a complete 360 and going back to camo. Everything comes in camo now. Guns, barrels, masks even paintballs.
