V Balls “Indoor” Target System For Paintball Guns

Posted by Administrator

So we just got some cool new V Ball Target System games in stock. Vballs are a reusable, “Velcro” like ball designed to be a paintball substitute for target practice.  They are safe for all paintball guns, but you do need a force fed paintball hopper.  Since V Balls came out I always like them.  They are a great way to practice shooting your gun without the mess or cost of real paintballs.  I used to have them set up in my basement, but you can also use them outside (as long as you can find the V Balls if you miss the Target).  The game system is gun because it a larger target, so you can shoot more balls on it and they all stick, and it comes with about 20 games you can play with a friend, which reduces the boredom which can take place from just shooting the target.  If your really good, try hanging the target from a string and have someone swing it gently.

The Vballs are not paintballs but they are designed to be a paintball alternative “ammo” for paintball guns.  You always want to wear your goggles when you are using your paintball gun, its also a good idea to use basic paintball common sense too (like don’t shoot them at people).  The only thing the vballs are not good for is chronograph’ing your gun.  Vballs weigh a lot less than normal paintballs so you always want to make sure you only adjust your guns velocity while using real paintballs. Other than that every paintball player will love the V Ball Target System epically on rainy days.

Draxxus Pulse Hopper Replacment Shells

Posted by Administrator

So we have been getting a lot of phone calls wondering where people can get replacement Pulse Shells.   The deal with Draxxus’ law suit is they can not sell or distribute Pulse hoppers or parts (including the shells).  However you can send your hopper into Draxxus In Virginia and they will be able to swap the shells out for you (under the warranty).  Their telephone number is (571)-261-3162.  I would call first to see if you need an RMA# or anything like that.  I don’t think you do.  If your sick of your Pulse hopper all together, check out the new Empire Magna Loader (also RF Option) or our full list of paintball hoppers.

Paintball Padding While Playing is a Must, but its Not for the Obvious Reason!

Posted by Administrator

I just read on another paintball blog, a post on paintball pads and how important they are for protecting you during play, which is true, however there is another reason why you should wear pads. Paintballers both in Woodsball or Speedball (tournament) playing styles absolutely must wear padding, but its not for the obvious reason of personal safety. The fact of the matter is that paintball Padding keeps you in the game longer!

Most people don’t realize that the more padding you wear while playing paintball, the more bounces you get. Yes thats right, paintballs instead of breaking on you, will bounce off thus keeping you in the game longer. Tournament players know this, which is why some tournament paintball circuits have rules against wearing “excessive” padding. I personally know guys that wear 2 pairs of paintball elbow pads whenever they play.

Think about it, when your paintball gun is shouldered and your shooting, the bottom of your forearms are exposed, they are pointing right toward your opponent, your forearms basically yell “shoot me”. Elbow pads like the Eclipse and Empire pads shield this exposed area and bounce any paintballs that hit them. I don’t condone wearing 2 pairs of pads, that is excessive and to me crosses ethical lines, however with paintball chest protectors, Elbow pads + knee pads, slide shorts and slide pants available, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be decked out from head to toe. Its almost like wearing body armor but for paintballs. Even Paintball Jerseys have some light padding in them designed just to get bounces.
Of course their is the personal saftey aspect of it.

Paintball pads can help prevent you from breaking a bones during a dive and can save your knees. Chest Protectors can even help stop welts from forming, however most guys who play paintball enjoy the welts. I hope this post has opened a few eyes out there. Good Luck!

BT4 ERC Paintball Gun

Posted by Administrator

The BT4 ERC paintball gun has everything you need to really get things going.  The double trigger on it allows you to get your BPS firing rate up, so you have more paintballs flying toward your target when you need the extra fire power.  The BT RIP Clip is a force fed sound activated hopper which will not starve the gun of the ammunition it needs to win.  Even with the BT4 E frame, the rip clip will provide a constant stream of paintballs.  The APEX Barrel system is the “bunker buster” of paintball.  It puts a spin on the ball that actually makes the ball hook left or right, or up or down at the range you dial in on the fly.  Its like firing mortar shells down on your target until you get them out from behind their cover.  Its a winning combination at a great price.

Dye DM8 Has a Pretty Cool Feature

Posted by Administrator

I have to hand it to the folks at DYE with the new DM8 Paintball gun. They developed a cool self wiping eye cleaning system which will get the eyes clean just enough to see a paintball. This saves time and your team if you break a ball in the breech during a paintball tournament. If you broke a ball in the breach of any normal paintball gun during a game, you might as well throw the paintballs at the other team your gun would be useless. So the self wiping feature is great. Even better NO MORE EYE/DETENT Covers! Yes thats right everything is internal now. Don’t freak out though, everything slides forward for easy tool less cleaning in seconds. Its a great design.

NXe to Release a Hopper?

Posted by Administrator

I’m not really sure if NXE has the “depth” to release and support such a staple of paintball equipment as a hopper. Their packs are nice however there is a big difference between making a paintball pack and a paintball hopper. Especially now with even the basic of hoppers becoming fast and more and more complex.  I obviously wish them and any company that gets into paintball luck, i just think its a very high risk move.

From what i hear it sounds like the “JRNY” ( pronounced journey) hopper is still in development.  We will of course try to keep up with the news on it.

On a side note, we frown upon any company who insists on spelling the name of a product wrong in a attempt to increase sales by thinking it makes the product “cooler”.  I think this is silly and insulting to paintballers, not to mention very very played out.  They might as well give the hopper to some large chested girl in a bikini for a photo shoot.  We would appreciate the photo of the girl, however I think its a lame attempt at marketing.  Paintballers by now should be able to see through all that.

There is a new Paintball Restriction bill to be voted on in MA.  With a already struggling state funding issue to me this just means more people work and wasted tax payers dollars.
