You know its funny. When paintball was in its very beginnings everyone wore camouflage. The big thing was a tiger stripe pattern. When paintball was first on ESPN, everyone had an Automag and slowly “slithered” toward their opponent while shooting. Then there was a big push to get out of the woods to make paintball more main stream. Thats when all the colorful jerseys and pants started to hit the market. Now we seem to be doing a complete 360 and going back to camo. Everything comes in camo now. Guns, barrels, masks even paintballs.

I’m not sure if this is some sort of publicity stunt by JTusa (owner of Worr Games maker of the Autocoker) however I have this extremely hard to believe. I was messing around on their site and found this “news”article under the news section http://www.jtusa.com/article/279/ . There was a bidding war over a $500 MSRP Autococker? Who cares if it was signed by Jeff Orr, it was Bud Orr that invented the Autococker design. Thats besides the point.
Autocockers are an obsolete paintball gun. There is a reason why no after market manufactures make parts for it, its because the design is dead. You can now buy a paintball gun for $150 that has Eyes, can shoot 15 bps and has half the complexity then even Worr Games “entry level” Trilogy line of Autocockers in the same price range.
Now you are talking to a guy who has custom built and owned many, many Autocockers. I sold my old 99 cocker about 3 years ago. They were great guns, however technology has just passed them. Let them die with dignity. They only reason Worr Games won’t let them die is because Autocockers is all they have (Worr Games specifically not JT USA). Bud Orr was smart to see the writing on the wall and sell the company to K2 who at the time and currently knows nothing about paintball trends. This whole gun signing thing, is nothing more than a stunt to try so spur a few sales.
I honestly can’t believe some moron would pay $5k for gun number 1 of a signed Jeff Orr series regardless of how much he loves the gun (resale ont he gun would be $400 if hes lucky). If the gun was an old original that was revamped, then thats a collectors piece that MIGHT fetch $2k (and thats a stretch). Bidding wars don’t take place on new guns like the SL74, which actually cost $2k. The fact of the matter is that there is absolutely nothing special about gun #1, the fact that its an Autococker should take away value from that. The MSRP of $500 is still a little steep. I think the whole thing is a hoax.

68 Caliber.com announced it found a new paintball hopper which will be released onto paintball in the next few months. 68 had to keep the details of the hopper real “hush hush”. So hush hush that thy really didn’t announce any real information on it other than the generic “better than anything out there”, “paintball will never be the same”. They have a picture of the new hopper on the above link, it almost looks like a shortened Draxxus Pulse loader. The white thing sticking out the back looks goofy.
On another note Empire Has a new hopper coming out. It will replace the B2 which just dropped in price to $129 down from $150. Watch the new hopper cost $200. Listen kids newer and more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better.

All you X7 Freaks out there, you can finally stop emailing us when this item is going to be released. The Tipmmann X7 Egrip has finally been released as a stand alone upgrade for the Tippmann X7. Its a simple bolt on upgrade (which is always the case from any Tippmann Product). The X7 E frame or AKA E Grip features 5 firing modes including semi auto, turbo, 3-shot safety burst, auto response and full safety auto and a 20 BPS rate of fire. Which is obviously a big step up from the standard Semi Auto X7. This grip will also have a auto on/off feature which really makes live easy and increases your shot count by minimizing wasted “juice” (like the Custom Pro Egrip). It operates off a 9 volt battery and is a must have if your a serious X7 Player.

Lets talk experience. As I browse a lot of our competitor’s web sites I see them post banners that say “Our experienced staff”, “15 years worth of Experience”. I can’t help but notice what a flat out lie most of these other web sites are stating (I know a lot of the other sites and how they got started).
I have been working at SAKWorldPaintball.com Since 1998, actually selling products and playing. I stated playing about 6-8 times a year in 1994. I have seen it all from pumps, to Angel LEDs. My very first gun was a Brass Eagle Cobra, followed by a Razor Back Pump, Tippmann .68 Special (their first non belt fed .68 semi). I have also had a ICD Puma, Tippmann Mini Lite
, and a PMI Tracer. In that era. My Brother still has and still sports a Sheridan VM-EXC 68(weights about 15 Lbs). A neighbor of mine purchased the first Spyder model Kingman came out with.
I have seen companies like Smart Parts, and DYE come out with their first products and grow into multi million dollar manufacturing firms with hundreds of employees. In both case I have owned their original products, Smart Parts All American barrel, I owned one in Brass for Automag, and a Stainless Steel All American for my Puma. I still own the original Dye Boomstick for a cocker, and still play with it.
I remember the day when people actually played with a 48oz (if memory serves they were big tanks) CO2 tank, and I also remember the day when someone wheeled a bulk 50lb Nitrogen Tank to our field for the first time. Now all the fields have air compressors for compressed air tanks.
Through the years I have seen companies rise and fall. There was a time where all of paintball was ruled by the Air Guns Design Automag, and a Worr Games Autococker (both retailed for $400 ish at their peak for base models). Now do to paintball gun design advancements their guns have faded into the dust.
The point of this article is be wary of your local paintball store or another online store boasting experience. There are a lot of people that say they have been in the sport for years that really haven’t and don’t have the experience of it. I and other guys here at SAK World have gained product experience from simply being neck deep into the sport for so long. We have personally witnessed paintball technology and products evolve threw the years. We understand the theory behind the products and why they have evolved. From the almost beginning we have had our hands in paintball. Our experience is second to none, which is why we encourage our customers to take advantage of it. Don’t just take someone’s advise. Have them explain it to you.

Here’s a little tid-bit of paintball information. Did you know that the Angel 1 can shoot over 350,000 shots off 1 standard 9 volt battery? Thats 175 cases of paintballs. Its pretty amazing how much precision engineering goes into that gun to make it so efficient. It uses so low voltage that the WDP Angel Master techs and Draxxus (make of the Pulse Hopper) had to work together to get the Pulse RF chip to detect voltage from the Angel 1. When the RF chip first came out, it couldn’t detect a pulse from the A1.

Smart Parts maker of the Ion and Epiphany paintball guns, recently dropped the price on the Epiphany paintball marker. Effective immediately the new price will be $299 which is $100 than the old price. $299 is a great deal for a fast, light gun with Smart Parts reliability. Its Rare but its nice when manufactures put money back into players hands.
