Are there any new paintball inventions left to be thought of?

Posted by Administrator

These days it seems that there are no more innovative idea’s to be brought into the paintball world.  With Pro Team products reticently in the news for being awarded a few more patents to their ever growing list.  It makes you wonder whats next?  Is their any other place to go from here, as far as paintball gun designs go?  The Invert Mini has a completely new valve/air system which makes it super small, but other than that I think we might have to take 2 steps backwards to take 5 steps forward in fresh idea’s.  Hopefully gun prices will still keep falling.

GPL Event #4 Field Layouts

Posted by Jeff

We have a ton of customers who Play in the Global Paintball leagues (GPL) in and around the NY/NJ Area so you can see the field layout for event 4 here.
We love this circuit, its the only tournament that offers great prizes and very hard competition. Not just the same old “local teams”. If your team is “serious” about paintball, instead of spending $1500 or more on one National Circuit Event when it rolls into town, your better off playing the entire GPL Circuit and seeing if your team can sink or swim against real competition. I hate to be brutally honest, but if you can’t place top 3 of the GPL, you shouldn’t be doing national events.

Smart Parts’ web site got a face lift.

Posted by Administrator

Smart Parts the makes of the Shocker and Ion Paintball guns give their site Smartparts.com a new face lift.  The site is much more functional and less confusing than their prior site.  Players can easily navigate the site for information or to request a RMA to send their smart parts product in for service.  Its a bout time SP did something about their site.  Their last paintball site was embarrassing hard to navigate through.

Invert Mini Upgrade bolt!

Posted by Administrator

Check out the New Designz Mini Upgrade bolt. Its like night and day how much lighter it is over the stock Mini bolt. The Delrin bolt is almost weightless. I installed the delrin bolt in my gun, off the bat there is no kick tot he gun at all. The bolt is the only thing that really moves inside the Mini, so when you install a bolt that weighs almost nothing, you don’t feel it move back and forth. I installed the bolt dry (no lube on the bolt). We’ll see how it goes. So far its way worth the $19

One Problem with Paintball

Posted by Administrator

In the past few years paintball has exploded in growth, these days the growth has leveled off.  With growth you have new companies entering paintball offering new products, and trying to make a buck, mostly trying to make a buck.  Even the older established companies are more geared toward making money than putting out a solid product.  These days its not uncommon for a company to come out with a gun and 1 year later, discontinue the gun (flavor of the day) and not offer support for that gun.  So a player ends up spending $300 or so for a brand new gun a year ago, and this year not be able to find a core part to keep the gun working.  Nows hes stuck with a paper weight and has to buy a new gun.  I think this issue is mostly consumer driven by always wanting the newest and “best”.  Just because a product is new, do not assume its better than something else.

Smart Parts, Planet Eclipse, Tippmann, Ben Tippmann, WDP, has always been reputable paintball gun manufacturers.

Unified Burst Disk Info - Paintball Saftey

Posted by Administrator

Unified burst disks is a 1 piece safety device for paintball tanks (air or CO2) which prevent them form becoming over pressurized.  They replaced “burst disks” which were a 2 peice system.  We will still refer to the newer unified burst disk as a burst disk.  Co2 tanks have 2 burst disks, N2 tanks will have 2 burst disks.

The burst disk markings can very by manufacturer.  Usually they are 1.8k, 3K, 5k, 7k.  Some manufacturers will mark “operating pressure” on them while others will mark burst pressure.  I belive there is talk now to standardize this.  1.8k=3k, because the 1800 psi pressure marking is operating pressure verses the 3k burst pressure. The 3k is the max pressure it will burst at.  I could burst anywhere from 2200PSI-3000 PSI.  On a normal day outside, a co2 will output 850PSI.
CO2 tanks will have a 1.8k or 3k marking burst disk.

N2 tanks have 2 disks.  1 To prevent the pressure vessel itself (tank) from bring over pressured, the other to protect the gun in case of a regulator failure.  The tank burst disk will be a higher rating, for a 3000PSI tank it will be 5k marking, for a 4500PSI tank it will be a 7k marking.

The n2 regulators burst disk will be the same as a CO2 burst disk marked at 1.8k or 3k.

Of course if you have questions call your tanks manufacturer before you do anything.
When in doubt always replace your burst disk with one of the same marking and never use a higher rated burst disk when you should be using a lower rated one. Thats how accident happen and it could seriously hurt or kill someone.

If you have to replace a burst disk, you do not have to seal the treads with teflon tape or thread sealant.  It will just screw in hand tight with a wrench.  If it leaks a little give it a little extra nudge.  Do not over tighten it.

Tiberius Arms Paintball Products

Posted by Brad

I guess a lot of paintball stores were complaining to Tiberius Arms that our prices were too low. I guess someone from Tiberius sent us a couple of email and now we have to raise the price on all of their products to just below our competitors. Tiberius Arms makes the Tiberius 8 Clip Fed Paintball Pistol . What ever happened to competition?
