Its not the Barrel that causes Kick!

Posted by Jeff

We just got a couple of reviews saying a barrel has more or less kick than another paintball barrel.  It doesn’t work that way.  Its the paint gun and its design that dictates how much “kick” is present when you shoot the paintball gun.  Kick is how much and how hard the paintball gun “jumps” or recoils when its fired. A large caliber machine gun will have more recoil than a small caliber pistol.

In paintball for the most part  its the mass of the horizontally moving parts, and how fast they move that dictate the kick of a paintball gun.  If your gun is old and has a large heavy hammer that hits a valve, you will have a lot of kick (assuming it doesn’t weigh 20 lbs) compared to a new gun that has a super light ram and a delrin bolt (like the EGO).   If you have a gun that ramps, like the Mini, you will feel the gun start to ramp and the gun will start to drift up in the air as the cycle rate of the bolt gets faster, that’s because of the ram returning to the open position hard. You don’t feel it on the close (forward position) and that’s because there are springs and air resistance that cushion the forward motion.  This is why a paintball gun will always kick up and not kick down. This is a VERY simple way of explaining things, but it has nothing to do with the barrel.  Even iv the barrel had no ports or all ports.

Tiberius T9 Rifles are here!

Posted by Brad

We now have the full line of Tiberius Clip Fed Paintball Pistols and Rifles.  The guns come clip fed (10 Rd Spring Loaded Clips) and the clip with CO2 12 grams slide up into the handle, which is a very cool feature.  The T9 line of rifles have the Tiberius 8 Pistol at the base.  That pistol then gets built up into a rifle by adding a different barrel and other accessories like a car stock.  The T9 Rifles can even be hopper fed and remote coil powered depending on your needs.  If you are the guy in the woods who does nothing but crawl around and snipe, you will enjoy the super low profile of the T9 line of paintball guns.  Definitely check them out.

Invert Mini Review

Posted by Administrator

The Invert Mini paintball gun, is a very small gun. When I opened the case for the first time I couldn’t believe how small and light it was. It feels around 1 pound. The Mini has a ton of innovative design features which I won’t get into. I’m just going to talk about the initial trial of the gun. I took the mini out of the box on Friday to mess around with it and read the instructions for play on Saturday.

The Mini has a pretty simple, electronic board with is pretty easy to navigate though with the multi colored LED. After taking about 20 min to read the short instructions and learn how to adjust the settings and firing modes I aired up the Mini and tried it out (with the stock board settings, in SEMI Auto Mode). I found the Mini easy to hold and fire with, it was actually a pleasure. The gun was well balanced, and the 45 grip was easy on the wrist. I had the gun set up with Crossfire LP tank, a Halo B w/Rip drive and a 12″ Tribal Stix Barrel. I went threw about a hopper of paint and noticed I was chopping the PMI Premium paintballs I was shooting. I checked the bolt and sure enough I was chopping. I lowered the dwell down to 15 and upped the BIP to 4 and it purred like a kitten.

That Saturday I enjoyed playing with the Mini. It was again a pleasure to hold, shoot and carry. I was surprised how responsive it felt when i pulled the trigger. Usually fast smaller guns like the Mini do not have much of a long ball, however the mini did pretty well for across the field “rain” shooting. The field couldn’t give more than 2500PSI per fill so I couldn’t do a shot count per tank, but I’ll be playing again with it this Saturday. For right now, for $399 the Mini, I think is a great deal.

Eclipse Cerberus Kit Paintball Bag - Review

Posted by Jeff

The first batch of Eclipse Cerberus Kit Bag (don’t worry no one knows how to pronounce it) has come and gone.  We still have a couple of black/white bags left which I think are the coolest looking.  They have the mo9st contrast to them.

I just walked out to the warehouse and unboxed one. Eclipse did do a much better job at making the Cerberus Kit Bag lighter than previous versions. The bag feels more sturdy too.  The shape and interior didn’t really change much.  On the inside you have 1 long inside pocket on one side, and 2 same type of pockets on the other side (All zippered).  New for this year Eclipse has a pre manufacturer white foam insert perfect for slipping 2 guns into.  Once this insert is inserted you have to larger sections of the gear bag on either side in a typical Redz or Eclipse configuration.  See chart.

There is a spot for goggles, and a few pockets here and there for for spares and batteries.  The wheels when hand spun have the smoothest motion I have ever felt for a gear bag, super smooth.  Eclipse has also done a very nice job with the style of the bag and quality of components.  Its cool looking and the new Eclipse Logos are tastefully made and add to the over look and feel to the bag.  All of the zippers, handles,  and other high stress parts of the bag feel very durable, and say nothing but quality construction.  Its no wonder why this bag has always been a big seller.

Paintball Manufacturers Step Up Woodsball / Milsim Equipment Making

Posted by Jeff

If you haven’t noticed paintball manufacturers have really stepped up their woods ball support.  Woodsball has always been the “crack” which gets new paintballers hooked on the game, however for years it has always been ignored.  Now manufacturers are focusing on offering more gear for woodsball players and/or the Mil-Sim (military simulation) style of play.

Ben Tippmann (BT) about 2 years ago, really slammed the door open with their line paintball guns which offered real world looks at a fraction of the price.  At the time most Milsim guns would cost $600 and up, BT brought it down to the $250 range.  TACAMO also entered the scene about a year ago with their Type 68 AK-47 paintball gun.  If looks could kill these guns are lethal.

Manufacturers are also making tactical vests, camouflaged goggles, and all sorts of new gear which will give the woods ball players the equipment they need to rescue the hostages or invade Normandy during a scenario game.

PSP and Virtue Paintball Join Forces for new Clothing line

Posted by Jeff

Virtue Paintball, manufacturer of aftermarket paintball boards and chips, has partnered with the PSP to release a new line of paintball clothing.

I think this will be just another example of people trying to sell over priced, over rated clothing to kids who really don’t know any better. If you don’t buy the $30 t shirt it won’t be $30 for very long.

Virtue Paintball does make nice boards which carry a lifetime warranty.

Planet Eclipse STAR FRAME will NOT fit an ETEK Ego.

Posted by Jeff

To put a lot of questions to rest.  The Planet Eclipse 05/06 Star Frame will not fit on a 06/07 ETEK Ego right out of the box.  You have to modify the frame slightly to get the Star frame to mount correctly. This is not recommended and will void the warranty on the star frame and probably the ETEK as well.  The only advantage you gain by adding the star frame is the LCD screen.  Instead of purchasing a Star frame and going through the trouble of trying to get it mounted, your better off buying a after market board like the Virtue Etek Board. Its a lot better performance.

If you have made this modification please feel free to comment.

View Loaders New Revolution Force and EYE Force Paintball Hoppers

Posted by Brad

Revolution Force

View Loader launches a new line of entry and mid priced force fed paintball hoppers, the  Revolution Force ($29) and the Eye Force ($75).

Force fed paintball hoppers use a constant pressure to push paintballs down into your paintball gun. This makes the paintballs load faster with no gaps in the “paintball line” entering your gun. This helps achieve max ROF (Rate of Fire). Before the Revolution Force and EYE Force, only the HALO B line, Empire’s Private Label line of Halo’s the Empire B, and the Draxxus Pulse Hopper were they only force fed hoppers on the market. Their prices ranged from $99-$160.

All electric hoppers have what’s called an agitator inside of the hopper. The agitator would spin to keep the paintballs inside the hopper moving freely, so gravity can pull them down into the feed neck and into your gun. This was the standard practice since the first electric hopper, View Loader’s 12 Volt Revolution, unless you wanted to spend $100+ for a hopper. What View Loader did in their new Force Loaders was keep the agitator, but arrange a channel for the paintballs to fall into around the agitator at the bottom of the hopper. Now the agitator acts as a propeller pushing the paintballs which fall into the channel down into the paintball gun. Its a innovative new way of looking at the age old problem of feeding paintballs quickly into a paintball gun.

EYE Force
The Eye Force Hopper uses 2 sets of beam break Eyes to 1) Automatically detect and fix a paintball jam in the hopper 2) Adjust the feed rate into the paintball gun as needed. Its a nice feature to have. In Halo B w/Rip Drive and Empire Line of Hoppers they use the RIP drive system, which is a knob you manually turn to free a jam, the rip drive also acts as a back up system.

Why are so many paintball magazines so lame?

Posted by Jeff

Why are so many paintball magazines so lame? If you know the answer to this please let me know. In the past month i have purchased 3 different paintball magazines and all 3 of them, had nothing but manufacturers advertisements in and/or other online stores. The few articles found in there were pretty week about some woods ball field in Timbuktu. If they can’t find something to write about why not just hold the magazine till next month. Maybe publish a every other month issue. That would at least make me go buy another one if the content was stronger. As it stands down for the $30 or so i spent for paintball reading material, I wouldn’t purchase those magazines again.

E-Star ETEK EGOs on Pre order now

Posted by Administrator

Hey check the new E-STAR ETEK Egos by planet Eclipse.   They have a pretty cool camouflage pattern on them.  I don’t believe any other manufacturer does a pattern like them. They are the same ETEK Egos as the black, jungle and urban ones, the only difference is the cool looking camo pattern.  They are currently the same price as the other Eteks and include the same items like the gun case.

SAKworldpaintball.com Not For Sale On Sitepoint.com

Posted by Administrator

I wanted to take a moment to clear up an issue.  About a month ago someone (we think a former contractor) advertised our web site www.SAKworldpaintball.com  as being for sale on sitepoint.com without the our permission. We are not sure what the former contractors intentions were when he listed the site for sale. We sent Sitepoint.com a few emails asking to end the auction however we got no reply.

Although the owner of SAKworldpaintball.com entertained a few inquiries, the fact of the matter is we are not for sale. We will continue to offer our customers quality paintball equipment and service second to none now and for years to come. As always thank you and we appreciate your business.
